Impact of results-based management and evaluation on the effectiveness of a social program in the central-southern region of Peru

Social programs acquire relevance thanks to the results-based management they undertake, which contributes to their effectiveness in the tasks they carry out to assist and accompany people with limited resources. The objective of the study is to determine whether results-based management and evaluation influence the effectiveness of a social program in the regions of Ayacucho, Huancavelica and Apurimac–Peru. Regarding the methodology, the type of research used was applied, descriptive, explanatory and non-experimental cross-sectional. The population consisted of 222 families benefiting from the program in the three regions, the sample was 127 families determined by convenience, divided into three districts belonging to each region. The survey was used as a technique, and the questionnaire as an instrument. The results show that an average of 50% of the families consider the program to be effective, while the other half do not. It is concluded that management by results influences the effectiveness of the program, while evaluation is not significant, due to the establishment of strategic actions that contribute to this end, with parents being a strategic ally as the main educators of their children.
