Abstract

The objective of the study is to estimate the average willingness to pay (WTP) of the families in the town of Paxa for the sustainability of the potable water and rural sanitation service project through the contingent valuation method (CVM) with question type formats referendum and double limit. The information was collected through a survey applied to a sample of 112 heads of family. An average DAP of S / 3.22 month / family was estimated; the DAP was affected by socioeconomic variables such as the hypothetical price, family income, age and education. Likewise, Pearson’s correlational analysis determined a direct and positive relationship between the WTP and the payment capacity (PC). The results will allow decision makers to generate the policy approach that will guarantee the sustainability of the project.
