Periodicity

Publication Frequency

From 2021 to 2025, Comuni@cción journal maintained a quarterly periodicity with four annual issues published in March, June, September, and December.

Starting in January 2026, the journal adopts the continuous publication system (rolling pass), an editorial model that enables immediate and accelerated dissemination of scientific production. In this system, articles are published online individually as soon as they successfully complete the peer review process, copyediting, layout, and final approval by the editorial team.

Characteristics of continuous publication:

  • Articles are published individually and immediately, without waiting to complete a full volume or issue.
  • Each article receives its DOI (Digital Object Identifier) upon publication, ensuring permanent identification and citability.
  • Articles maintain their chronological publication order according to acceptance and editorial processing date.
  • At the end of each calendar year, published articles are organized into an annual volume with consecutive numbering.
  • This model significantly reduces the time between manuscript acceptance and public availability, enhancing visibility, rapid access, and greater impact of research results.
  • Continuous publication allows authors to disseminate their work without delays associated with waiting for periodic issue closures.

Information for authors: Manuscripts are evaluated and processed continuously throughout the year. There are no submission deadlines associated with specific issues. Evaluation and publication timelines depend exclusively on each manuscript's editorial process.
