Relationship between the cyberbullying schoolchildren, threats on internet and lack of control in Ica and Arequipa

The bullying climbed to the internet and they call it cyberbullying. There is no physical abuse, but there is psychological abuse and it can be harmful to the victim in their adult life. This research analyzes the relationship between cyberbullying, Internet use and lack of control. It is a basic, quantitative and scope correlational research, observational cross-sectional design. The sample (n=644) is non-probabilistic for convenience, chosen between studens from estatal schools with the largest poblation schoolchildren in two regions in the south of Peru. Results: the 41.8% of schoolchildren live in dysfunctional homes, they prefer social networks more than online games, they dedicate between 1 to 4 hours a day to them. In both cyberspaces have the risk of grooming (50,1) and sexting (29,3), two forms of cyberbullying. The Rho of Spearman test evidence a significant relationship (p=0.000) the cyberbullying with internet use (27.8%) and with lack of control (26.7%). The Mann-Whitney U test demonstrate difference not from the cyberbyllying between mens and womens (p=0.068), nor in internet use (p=0.323) and the lack of control (p=0.226). It is concluded that cyberbullying exists among schoolchildren and is associated with the lack of parental control, therefore, supervision of internet use must be improved.
