Impact of digital tools on the musical metacognitive process of students of the master’s degree UNA, Puno

This study addresses metacognition, understood as the awareness and regulation of one’s knowledge processes, integrating theoretical and empirical approaches in the context of musical learning. It investigates how digital tools impact the reflection and self-regulation of graduate students through a qualitative design of multiple cases. Therefore, the effect of these tools on the development of musical metacognition was evaluated. Using a multiple linear regression model, variables such as digital tools, study strategies, and reflection on learning were analyzed. The results reveal that using digital tools has a significant positive effect on metacognition, with a coefficient of 0.130, indicating that their increased use enhances the capacity for self-regulation of learning. Likewise, study strategies and reflection showed positive effects, with coefficients of 0.0558 and 0.0201, respectively. The model explained 92.9% of the variability in the progress of musical metacognition, with a significant F value supporting the relevance of the variables analyzed. These findings emphasize that integrating digital tools and promoting reflective study strategies can significantly improve academic performance in music, facilitating more autonomous and deeper learning among students.
